| The Legend that is Wilf
Mannion. Probably the most famous Middlesbrough player, the Golden Boy was an inspiration to all those around him. His
performances on the pitch were exceptional, with displays like the 4-0 win over Blackpool in November 1947, dubbed the
Mannion Match. Wilf states in a biography that he was putting on a show in that game purely for his new fiancée,
Bernadette who was seeing Wilf in action for the first time!
