EVERTON 1
MIDDLESBROUGH 0 Everton proved to be too strong for the Boro at
Goodison Park. Boro battled in the first half without creating many
chances, but the only goal came two minutes after the break. Marcus
Bent, playing as a lone striker, took a shot which deflected of Queudrue. Downing came on and made some
headway, but it wasn't enough as Boro lost for the second time this
season. Mendieta and Ehiogu were still missing through
injury.
